Bessie M. Bonante (age 97)
Bessie M. Bonante, age 97 of Sykesville, PA died Sunday, March 23, 2025 at her home. Born on August 13, 1927 in Troutville, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Alma "Pearl" (King) Frantz. On June 24, 1944 she married Arman F. Bonante, Sr. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2012. Bessie assisted her family in the operation of Bonante's Garage in Sykesville, PA for 53 years and was a well-known Avon Representative in the area for 17 years. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting, cooking and crafts. Bessie was also the owner of Dolls, and Bears and Things, Oh My! where she sold and restored antique dolls. She was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sykesville. Bessie is survived by five children: Judy Sharp and her husband, Harry of Sykesville, PA, Arman Bonante, Jr. and his wife, Laurie of Reynoldsville, PA, June Bonante of Reynoldsville, PA, Jill Hazuda of Sykesville, PA and Michael Bonante of Sykesville, PA, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter (Joyce Kristy), an infant son (John Bonante), and one great grandson (Penn Hazuda). Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 4 - 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor Jacob Penvose officiating. Burial will take place in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Four Footed Friends, 220 Beck Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
