Gerard E. “Ziggy” Sierzega (age 80)
Gerard E. “Ziggy” Sierzega, age 80 of DuBois, PA passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on September 28, 1944 in DuBois, PA to the late John Edward and Mary Ann (Zuchowski) Sierzega. Ziggy was a 1962 graduate of St. Catherine High School. He was Catholic by faith. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. On June 14, 1991 he married Kathy (Bowers) Beatty Sierzega. She survives. Ziggy retired from Rockwell International, later Sensus after 46 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycles his entire life. Along with his wife, he is survived by a stepson (Shawn Stewart and his wife April), a son (Charles Sierzega and his wife Kim ) and a daughter (Ann Marie Sierzega), two brothers (Ronald Sierzega and his wife Mary, and David Sierzega and his wife Patricia ), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and one brother-in-law (Ted Koslosky). He was preceded in death by two brothers (Richard Sierzega and his wife Doris and Jack Sierzega and his wife Margie), and two sisters (Geraldine Koslosky and Delores Shick and her husband Bob). Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM from the funeral home with Father John Malthaner officiating. Full military honors will be accorded from the funeral home by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart Center at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801. David M. Kite (age 74)
David M. Kite, age 74 of Falls Creek, PA died Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on May 9, 1950 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Lewis and Leona (Lockwood) Kite. On May 24, 1985, he married Judy L. (Anderson) Kite. She survives. Dave was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in the Vietnam War. He retired from Archives Management Warehouse in Brockway, PA. Dave was a member of the Falls Creek Eagles. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son (Michael Kite of Great Falls, MT) two step children (Christy Kroboth of Leighton, PA and Tracy Pangallo of Falls Creek, PA), four grandchildren, a brother (George Kite of North Carolina), and a sister (Shelia Johnson of Brockway, PA). He was preceded in death by his two brothers (James and Edward Kite) There will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 4 PM at the Falls Creek Eagles. Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery. I’ve seen some of fire country. Stopped so I can start it from the beginning. -

What do you watch?
I only watch a few shows and they are wide ranging. I have always enjoyed Blue Bloods. Recently, I have really enjoyed Fire Country. On Netflix and Amazon I have enjoyed watching Series shows: Heartland, and more recently The Chosen. The Chosen really shows you how it was in Bible times. It helps you to understand some of the things the Bible talks about. My hubby and I watched Landman the other night. Some of it is risque, but Billy Bob Thornton really plays a good part. I think it's one of his finer roles. -
